Formula 1 | Aston Martin F1: Stroll goes into Q3 then suffers a hydraulic problem

Aston Martin F1: Stroll goes (...)

Great qualifications for Lance Stroll who managed to hoist his Aston Martin F1 in Q3 at Zandvoort, but unfortunately he could not participate due to a technical problem on his AMR22 and will therefore start 10th in the Grand Prix des Pays -Down tomorrow.

The Canadian is disappointed not to have been able to defend his chances until the end, but he is pleased with the very good pace of his single-seater this weekend.

« We had a hydraulic problem in Q3, I couldn’t get out. I think we had the pace to finish between sixth and eighth place. »

“It’s a shame, but I felt good in the car today. It was fun to drive, it had good balance, and that’s something we haven’t had for several races, so it’s been good. »

Sebastian Vettel did not have the same success as his teammate since he was eliminated in Q1, during which he made a mistake and went to visit the gravel trap. The German of course regrets having been eliminated from the session so early but explains the reason for his bad time.

« It’s frustrating and I couldn’t understand why I was missing the apex and going outside like that, but I knew it when I saw the footage again: there was a bit of sand outside, just enough that I couldn’t turn the car before I lost it and went into the gravel. »

« It’s a shame. I don’t know which driver made this mistake and put sand on the track, but in any case the consequence is that we will start very far on the grid tomorrow. »
